IMS Research Rounds: Mental Health Research

Please join us for breakfast as we hear from our fellow IMS researchers on Mental Health Research!

Presenters: 
Alexandra Sas – Alexandra studies the implementation of a new brain stimulation treatment to help people quit smoking under the supervision of Dr. Victor Tang. Fun fact about Alexandra is that she studies the implementation of a new brain stimulation treatment to help people quit smoking.

Ayla Sadeghi Ayla is a second-year master’s student in the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto. Currently, her research focuses on the feasibility and satisfaction of an intensive virtual treatment program with remote abstinence monitoring for alcohol use disorder. Aside from research, Ayla enjoys playing piano and loves travelling!.

Christina Pereira Christina is a fourth-year PhD student under the supervision of Drs. Stefan Kloiber and Isabella Boileau. She uses PET and MRI to investigate the endocannabinoid system in individuals with social anxiety disorder and their response to social stress. When not in the lab, Christina likes to read, go on hikes, and spend time with my dog.
