The Family Care Office provides confidential guidance, resources, referrals, educational programming and advocacy for the University of Toronto community (students, faculty, and staff) and their families.

We raise awareness of family care issues central to the achievement of education and employment equity at the University of Toronto.

Redefining Traditional for students supporting young children

This website offers a plethora of resources for student-parents and their supporters to navigate the challenges of balancing parenting, academics, and self-care in a COVID-19 context.

Student-parents can find resources for academic success, childcare, finances, health, homeschooling, and recreation. There is also a list of live events for children and their families, as well as a section with multidisciplinary research on the student parent population.

The Early Learning Centre provides support to the family unit of University of Toronto students, staff, and faculty by implementing an early childhood education and care program that strives for excellence in the provision of physical and emotionally nurturing care, and excel in providing an enriched learning environment that is inclusive, bias-free, safe and happy.

Child care subsidies may be offered by municipalities to help with the cost of child care. If you live in the City of Toronto and would like to have an idea of whether you are financially eligible and how much they would cover, please use the fee calculator on the City of Toronto website.
